Competition for the top positions in Ntungamo District is in advanced stage leading to suspected witchcraft and corruption among the leaders.
Sources from the district indicate that at the start 2023, about 10 technical staff of Ntungamo District local government resumed their work in an ill condition among them was the district boss Samuel MucunguziRwakigoba, who went for almost two months leave after he felt unable to press on with normal routine.
Other offices affected are the Education department, district speaker office, LC V office as well as other technical staff where one feels headache upon entering their offices.
Some officials whose names and identities were concealed for security purposes opened up to this reporter that some leaders feel grieved after the promotion of their fellows forcing them to go for witchcraft in the neighboring Tanzania and other countries for fortunes.
At the beginning of this year, men and women of God led by Rev. Edson Turyatunga from Kigezi Diocese in conjunction with District leaders organized a fellowship at the District Council Hall full of praise, worship and the word of God.
It should be remembered that South Ankole Diocese led by the Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisbwe had earlier started fellowships at the district but flopped after some leaders remained ignored attendance.
